# Smoking Poly for Linux

## Built For Traders Who Want Control

Smoking Poly brings a focused Polymarket trading workspace to Linux, giving you one place to monitor signals, review positions, and shape how the bot behaves.

- Copy trading for following high-signal wallets
- Whale monitoring for spotting meaningful large-wallet flow
- Discovery tools for expanding your watchlist
- Paper trading for safe rehearsal
- AI Confluence for deeper trade review
- Optional Telegram alerts for staying connected

## Getting Started

1. Download `SmokingPoly-v0.2.7-linux.tar.gz`.
2. Extract it into your preferred folder.
3. Start the app with `./start.sh` or `./SmokingPoly`.
4. Open the dashboard at `http://127.0.0.1:5000/dashboard`.

Paper Trading is ready from the first launch, so you can learn the flow and tune your setup before going live.

## Why Traders Use It

- A focused trading terminal without browser clutter
- Better visibility into price, liquidity, signal quality, and execution conditions
- Strategy-led entries instead of impulse trades
- AI review when you want extra conviction before execution
- A smoother path from simulation to live deployment

## Your First Session

Smoking Poly sets up its local workspace automatically and opens into a dashboard designed to help you get productive quickly.

The best first experience is simple:

- explore the dashboard
- keep Paper Trading on
- decide which strategies fit your style
- enable AI Confluence if you want an extra review layer

## Live Trading

When you are ready for real execution, Smoking Poly can unlock live trading after your wallet and license are recognized.

You do not need to manage activation links or verification details yourself. The app handles that in the background:

- save the wallet you want to trade with
- make sure it matches the licensed wallet used at purchase
- wait for live access to show as active
- switch off Paper Trading only when you are comfortable

## AI Confluence

AI Confluence adds a model committee that reviews candidate BUY trades before they reach execution.

What it adds:

- a clearer read on whether Polymarket supports the trade
- better visibility into price trend, liquidity, and spread
- optional web-backed verification when you want outside confirmation
- a more disciplined decision flow between signal and entry

## Pricing Discipline

Copy Trading and Whale Trading each have their own **Max Position Price** setting, so you can define how expensive an entry is allowed to be before the bot ignores it.

## Updating

1. Close the app
2. Download the newest Linux release
3. Extract it into a fresh folder
4. Launch the new version and continue from there

When the app can reach the Cloudflare release feed, it will also surface an in-app notification if a newer version is available.

Current release: **v0.2.7**

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | Solution |
|---------|----------|
| Dashboard does not open | Visit `http://127.0.0.1:5000/dashboard` manually |
| Port 5000 is already in use | Change `PORT` in `.env` and restart |
| Live mode says keys are missing | Re-save your wallet details in **Settings** |
| Live license stays inactive | Make sure the saved wallet matches the licensed wallet, then wait a moment or press **Check Activation** |
| Activation fails | Check your internet connection and try again |
| Polymarket balance sync shows `Request exception!` | Flush DNS cache, then restart the app. Try `sudo resolvectl flush-caches`; on older systems try `sudo systemd-resolve --flush-caches`. If it returns, try Cloudflare DNS `1.1.1.1` or Google DNS `8.8.8.8` |
| App will not start | Check `data/logs/smokingpoly.log` for errors |
| System too old error | Your system is too old; upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04+ or equivalent |

Windows and Linux releases are published separately. Linux users should download the `-linux.tar.gz` release, while Windows users should download the `.zip` release from the same release page.
